30th Anniversary of Kenya's First Vice President

Jaramogi Oginga Odinga passionately advocated for the release of the Kapenguria Six, leveraging his role in the Luo Union of East Africa and later as chairman of the African Elected Members Organisation. As vice president in independent Kenya, his relationship with President Kenyatta soured, leading to his departure from Kanu in 1966. Despite subsequent detentions and challenges, Odinga remained a steadfast moral compass for the nation until his death in January 1994.
For the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the passing of a true Pan-African legend, Mzee Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, his children held a church service led by Rt. Hon Raila Odinga and Hon. Oburu Odinga. Also present was the former First Lady H. E Margaret Kenyatta as well as CS Moses Kuria, Mombasa Women Rep Zamzam Mohamed, Hon Mishi Mboko (Likoni), Hon Bady Twalib (Jomvu), County Assembly of Mombasa Speaker Hon Aharub Khatri as well as 22 MCAs from the County Assembly of Mombasa.
